Sayonara Japan : ( Part 1
*Sigh. Its weird how easy people get attached to certain things. I stayed with a couple of strangers for a week, now I can't stop missing them.
Let me explain myself, I had this student exchange programme last week. Ok, but i got to stay with a Japanese family for a week and go to school. It sounds scary. Tell me about. That's what I thought at FIRST.
Day 1...
First off, i had school concert at the same day as the fly off to Japan. Gosh, i had only 2 hours break to have dinner before reporting myself at the airport. Imagine the chaos.
Really. I was so nervous about the trip that i kinda er.. well.. i bowed and curtsied at the same go when i received my award for the school prize-giving ceremony.I had to receive another sort of trophy, but it was obvious i didn't want to stay long. I zoomed off the stage, though the emcee was still announcing.
Finally, the concert was finished. Only had a week to practice the whole darn play. Next off, I rushed to the airport ( after having my meal off course ).

M.E.R.D.E.K.A
Happy be-lated Independence Day Malaysia!!
I know. This is like an outdated entry. BUT- its the heart that counts. : ) Besides, I was busy. There was the merdeka sales!! You can't miss that!! I'm not a shopaholic myself but SHOPPING is a way to enjoy life. Its one of my infamous philosophy of life.
Well, my school had the celebrations on the 29/08/08. Heck, i guess probably there was a nation-wide school celebration on that day. One thing is for sure, the students sure DON'T have to wear their traditional outfits. Its nice-don't get me wrong-just the trouble of borrowing one. NO way am i gonna wear my ceongsam. Its very high cut. Very. Imagine sitting on a chair wearing that. The last time i wore one to the celebrations, the teachers were all like: " OMG, it has a really high cut to your thighs!" What am i suppose to do?!! Strip? Had enough of the embarrassment .
So, the following ones, i decided to wear baju kurung. I really like it, except the frequent trips ( almost ). You might not believe it but i kinda got my baju like last minute. My mum was kinda freaking out( now to think about it, she is constantly freaking over something) that i might actually be dress-less for the occasion.
Anyways, its was the last day for Dianah. (She is leaving Malaysia and migrating to Qatar) We were gonna meet up with Emilie in the canteen. (another friend leaving for Canada) So, we sneaked out of the hall. The darn part is well... we were walking towards the discipline teacher. I freaked out.
Me: Pss... you gotta think of an excuse! We heading towards him.
Dianah: Oh! ok ok.
Arriving towards teacher......
Me: Err... good afternoon teacher. ( Please don't ask what the hell we are doing )
Teacher: Say, is Emilie coming? She told me so.
Dianah: Yep. Thats exactly why we are leaving. (which was kinda true, she just forgot to mention about the part she brought 'something')
Me: *nods ( Thank god that was over )
We waited. Then, a green figure walks towards us. I waved real hard. ( to be honest, I'm not sure who that figure is. heck, i just waved anyways) Luckily, it was Emilie-or people might think I'm some sort of idiot. She was wearing a dark green baju kurung from Giorgio Armani. ( didn't know they made those stuff until that day) We walked back into the hall. Boring performance was all I could remembered.
I just remembered the part everyone started singing the songs. I was hyper then. So, i was practically yelling...not singing. Mior was siting behind me. He and his friend started standing up while singing (in my terms: yelling) The hyper-me followed along too. Except I forgot my coordination skills. I stood when everyone sat. Its pretty stupid. Dianah cried when the songs were playing. It's still a shock until today.
Emilie: Emily, Dianah is crying.
Me: What?!! Why?
Approaches Dianah...
Me: Hey, you ok?
Dianah: Yeah. (still sobbing)
Me: Why are you crying?
Dianah: Its my last merdeka celebration...
That's a true Malaysian if you asked me. Really touching. Yadayada..the rest was boring. We went to class. ( hell, why am I even having classes??) Got my physic paper. The paper slapped a B to my records. Hell yeah! I improved by 3 marks! haha
Suddenly, some dude (i think it was Alex) came screaming:" Choir! get out of the building now!" WHAT??!! Choirs... out of the building??!!. People are so critical over tunes now that you kicking them out? Give them a break. I don't think they suck real bad (do they?)
It turns out, it was fire drill. Its funny. I held on to my physic paper and walked out to the field. What the hell am I holding the piece of paper? I don't really quite know until now. A fire drill a year is probably enough. Maybe my school is giving some sort of merdeka special. There was another fire drill 10 minutes after the previous one. It was freaking hot! The sun is evil. Its burning up my skin. I'm freaking dark...not tanned... I repeat DARK!
I guess that all for my blog this time. Below are some random pictures i got from the Internet on Malaysia's Independence Day. ( I'm sorry that i was not there to watch the parade. Hello??!! Reality check. Its 38++ degrees. There's a reason for the invention of tv or internet)
